We show how to obtain information about the states of an effective field theory in terms of the underlying fundamental theory. In the light scalar meson sector (M < ∼ 1.8 GeV) one expects at least one qq̄ nonet and a glueball, possibly also multi-quark states. ar X iv : h ep - p h / 04 05 12 8 v 1 1 4 M ay 2 00 4 Propagators of light scalar mesons

It is shown that the light scalar meson propagators in the one-loop approximation satisfy the Källen – Lehmann representation in the wide domain of coupling constants of the light scalar mesons with the two-particle states. It is proposed to use these propagators in routine fitting data about light scalar mesons.
